Street Legal UTV Kits
Make your UTV street legal. Polaris RZR, Ranger, General, Arctic Cat Wildcat, Yamaha YXZ, Can-Am Maverick, Can-Am Defender, Kawasaki KRX, Teryx, Mule, Honda Talon, and more. Every side by side needs the same core road-legal equipment: a turn signal kit, license plate mount, horn kit, mirrors, and DOT-compliant lighting.
Every kit in this collection is plug-and-play. No splicing, no soldering, no cutting OEM harnesses. Each kit plugs into your existing connectors and works straight out of the box.
Street Legal Side by Side: Where to Start
Making a street legal side by side starts with the right wiring kit for your vehicle. The base kit handles turn signals, brake lights, and horn integration. From there, the state-specific requirements determine what else you need (mirrors, plate light, windshield, roof). The same setup is sometimes called a road legal side by side kit, depending on your state terminology.
What makes a side by side street legal?
To drive a side by side on public roads, every state requires the same core road-legal equipment: working turn signals front and rear, a horn that meets the state minimum decibel rating, side or rear view mirrors, a brake light, headlights and tail lights that meet DOT, a windshield in some states, a license plate bracket with a plate light, and in many states a roof or rollover protection structure. Some states also require seatbelts, daytime running lights, and reflectors. Beyond the equipment, you also need a license plate registered in your state, the relevant insurance for off-highway vehicles or motorcycles depending on classification, and in some states a UTV or OHV endorsement on your driver license.
A street legal kit, sometimes called a UTV turn signal kit, bundles the signaling and lighting components into a single plug-and-play harness so you do not have to source the parts individually. Combined with a license plate bracket, mirrors, and a horn, it is the fastest route from off-road only to road-legal in your state.
